CI Financial, the largest investment management firm by assets under management in Canada, came to us looking for a full overhaul of its 55-year-old brand. M&K worked toward the CI objective of expanding and globalizing the brand starting with a logo system for their parent company and subsequent 5 sub-brands, creating a mark that works across multiple lines of business and is conducive to adding to newly acquired companies. Not wanting to completely pull away from the CI name and history, we drew on elements of the legacy logo to evolve it into a more modern mark. From there we continued the brand transformation by updating all client-facing touchpoints from digital to collateral.
